On 02 March 2022, Major General Andreas Schick, Commander EATC, and Air Commodore Hugh Smith, Deputy Director of the European Air Group (EAG), signed a letter of cooperation, reinforcing the collaborative efforts between the two organisations.
With this signature, the Commander EATC and the Deputy Director EAG confirmed their willingness to further develop the close working relationship. The efforts aim at a deeper cooperation in the areas of, for example, aeromedical evacuation, cross-maintenance, “Single European Sky”, air mobile protection teams or training. Moreover the interlocutors expressed their intention to support initiatives of mutual benefit to EATC and EAG.
Both organizations have always shared areas of interest in the air mobility domain. Their cooperative efforts go back to 2011 when the first letter of cooperation was signed. Since then they have enhanced the collaboration in multiple domains. As an example, in 2016, EATC took over the “load management” courses from the EAG. Today these courses, called “Combined Air Terminal Training”, are a unique rendez-vous for experts from EATC’s and partner nations’ air forces.
