On Tuesday 16 March 2021, Major General Andreas Schick, Commander EATC, warmly welcomed the Belgium Chief of Defence, Admiral Michel Hofman.
The visit included a presentation on the Commander’s priorities for the next years and on EATC’s outlook into the future. Admiral Hofman was very interested in EATC’s intentions to better support the nations during the early planning and subsequent execution phase for air mobility missions in crisis scenarios. He was also informed on EATC’s plans to introduce a shared inter-theatre shuttle system.
The generals highlighted the strong links and excellent collaboration between Belgium and the EATC.
Admiral Hofman and his delegation also visited EATC’s “Mission Control” centre, where the worldwide flight activities are monitored on a 24/7 basis.
At the end of his visit, the Belgium Chief of Defence met with the Belgian contingent at EATC, before continuing to the Multinational MRTT Unit, also stationed at Eindhoven airbase.
