Worldwide 24/7 operations

Premiere: EATC aeromedical evacuation day

On 07 November 2023, EATC organized the first aeromedical evacuation (AE) day, gathering 80 medical experts from the seven EATC member nations, as well as from the US, Denmark and multinational entities, such as AIRCOM, Joint Force Command Brunssum, EUMS, EDA, MMCC/EMC* and MCCE.

The Commander EATC, Major General Franck Mollard, welcomed the distinguished audience. “Aeromedical evacuation is one of EATC’s three operational domains“, he highlights. “Unlike air transport or air-to-air refuelling, aeromedical evacuation can be compared to a big puzzle where each of our nations owns a single and accurate piece with unique assets and AE capabilities. The single pieces are pooled at EATC and offer the possibility to choose the right asset for each equipment and assistance that is needed.”

This premiere AE day offered an insight into EATC’s AE portfolio, as well as into EATC’s extensive AE expertise. Medical experts from EATC, but also from Joint Force Command Brunssum, the EUMS and the MMCC/EMC, introduced their operational AE procedures and challenges.

General Mollard concluded that “we need to be prepared for potential high intensity conflicts and a possible high number of wounded soldiers. Each individual soldier needs to know at all time that we will always be ready to provide to him the best possible medical support and evacuation, worldwide and 365/24/7!”
