As of today, 28 June 2023, the Multinational Multirole Tanker Transport Unit (MMU) is officially on 24 hrs notice to move for aeromedical evacuation. One of the A330 MRTT of the Unit will be permanently in MEDEVAC configuration and stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Cologne (DEU).
"EATC congratulates the A 330 Multinational MRTT Unit for being operational with a MEDEVAC capability for the first time" - the words of Major General Andreas Schick, EATC Commander, once he was adviced of the important milestone - "As of today an A330 is on 24 hrs notice to move at Cologne airbase, ready to conduct MEDEVAC missions under the operational authority of the EATC and its Aeromedical Evacuation Control Center.
