EATC’s Lighthouse Project: a multi-step and a concrete approach

The LHP presents a stepped approach with the ultimate objective to offer to the nations significantly improved interoperability, effectiveness and efficiency. The LHP is translated into concrete events to demonstrate and validate common operational capacities. This helps to mobilize troops and the willingness to deliver.

EATC’s level of ambition is to enable the nations to operate an integrated multinational A400M detachment. To do so, nations need to be willing to adapt national procedures and to operate commonly the complete range of what they need to run a detachment. This goes from preparation and planning to execution, from ground activities to flying: common ground handling operations, cross-maintenance, sharing of spare-parts, cross-parachuting, exchange of aircrews and loadmasters, etc…

The multi-step approach foresees that EATC concentrates in the first strand on two prioritized areas and four pillars :

  1. logistic support : maintenance and ground handling
  2. operational support : mission preparation and parachuting
