From October 1st to 4th, 2024, the European Air Transport Command (EATC) conducted its annual Command Seminar, hosted this year by Spain at the Tablada Airfield near Seville. This rare gathering brought together the Command Group, Senior National Representatives, Division Heads, and Branch Chiefs to discuss current and future challenges facing EATC.
Led by Major-General Franck Mollard, EATC Commander, participants engaged in strategic discussions cantered on two critical questions: Are we doing the right thing? and Are we doing things right?
These reflections laid the groundwork for a Comprehensive Action Plan aimed at enhancing EATC’s future operations. Key topics included operational concepts and documentation, performance indicators and measurement tools, integral management boards, and information transfer protocols.
As part of the seminar, participants visited Airbus Defence, where Honorary Lieutenant-General César M. Simón López provided an interactive tour of the A400M production line. Airbus is a key partner for EATC, with half of its fleet composed of A400M aircraft. The event concluded with a cultural tour of Seville’s historic city centre, featuring landmarks such as the Plaza de España and Metropol Parasol.
