Seven nations - One command
Worldwide 24/7 operations

EATC at RAMS 2026

From 16–20 March 2026, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, a delegation from the Aeromedical Evacuation Control Centre (AECC) represented the European Air Transport Command (EATC) at the Ramstein Aerospace Medicine Summit (RAMS), hosted by the NATO Science and Technology Organization. The summit offered an inspiring environment for exchanging knowledge, discussing emerging challenges, and strengthening cooperation across NATO’s aeromedical community.

A Forum for Knowledge and Networking

With 200 participants, mostly flight surgeons from NATO nations, RAMS provided a platform to share the latest scientific, clinical, and operational developments in aerospace medicine. For EATC, it was a key opportunity to enhance interoperability, align procedures, and reinforce professional networks, ensuring that expertise is readily available to support multinational operations.

AECC Contributions

AECC played an active role in the programme. LtCol Jacopo Frassini presented a scientific study titled “Medical Support in the Space Domain: Findings from the Poggio Space 2025 Exercise”, highlighting research findings and lessons learned from space medicine operations. He also led a working group on space medicine, promoting discussion on emerging challenges. Col Henning v. Perbandt highlighted AECC’s role in delivering StratAE services across full-spectrum operations, while LtCol Gascón Hove showcased a poster celebrating EATC’s 15th anniversary, reflecting on the command’s achievements and growth.

Strengthening NATO Aeromedical Readiness

RAMS 2026 highlighted EATC’s role as a central contributor to NATO aeromedical capabilities. The summit fostered knowledge exchange, built professional networks, and facilitated collaborative discussions. These efforts ensure that expertise and support remain quickly accessible across the alliance. The event also serves to foster multinational cooperation and strengthen the alliance’s aerospace medicine community, keeping NATO at the forefront of innovation and collaboration in aeromedical care.
