On 15 and 16 July 2026, an EATC delegation led by Major General Franck Mollard, Commander of the European Air Transport Command, attended the Chief of the Air Staff’s Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference in London. General Mollard was accompanied by Dr Alexandre Verlaine, Luxembourg Senior National Representative and EATC Head of Public Affairs and Protocol.
Organised by the Royal Air Force and the Air & Space Power Association, GASCC 2026 brought together senior air and space leaders, government representatives, academics and defence-industry experts. Under the theme “Dominating the Skies and Beyond: Agile, Integrated and Ready,” participants examined how air and space forces must adapt to an increasingly contested and technologically demanding security environment.
The conference addressed several strategic areas directly relevant to the future of multinational air operations. Discussions covered the operationalisation of the space domain, integrated air and missile defence, the development of an integrated force and the lessons emerging from recent conflicts. Particular attention was given to readiness, technological innovation and the ability of allied forces to operate effectively across national and operational boundaries.
For EATC, these subjects are closely connected to its daily mission. By integrating the air transport, air-to-air refuelling and aeromedical evacuation capabilities of its seven member nations, EATC transforms national resources into coordinated multinational effects. Its operational model demonstrates how interoperability, shared procedures and mutual trust can strengthen both responsiveness and collective readiness.
Participation in GASCC also provided General Mollard and Dr Verlaine with an opportunity to engage with senior military leaders and other international partners. These exchanges support EATC’s continued efforts to anticipate emerging operational requirements, strengthen cooperation and ensure that multinational air mobility remains prepared for future challenges.
GASCC 2026 once again underlined that air and space superiority cannot be achieved by individual nations acting alone. Agility must be supported by integration, and integration must ultimately produce operational readiness. These principles remain central to EATC’s mission and to its contribution to European and allied security.
