EART 2022: ready to start!

On 15 September 2022, a team of EATC experts will take off from Eindhoven (NL) to Lanzarote (ESP) to finalize preparations with Spanish counterparts and to welcome tankers and crews at Lanzarote Air Base for EART 2022.

They will spend their days over the skies of the Canarian Islands, training air-to-air refueling techniques in conjunction with a Spanish live fighter exercise called "Sirio 2022," operating from Gando airbase.

Three tankers, an Italian Kc-767A, a French A330 MRTT, a Canadian A320 and their crews will participate, together with mentors form Australia and MCCE* will be ready to perform air-to-air-refueling missions under the supervision of the training director, the Italian Air Force Colonel, Salvatore Melillo, Head of EATC's Functional Division.

The 2022 edition of EART will again offer dedicated training opportunities to the tanker crews with a dedicated focus on similar and dissimilar “multi-tanker formation” and “tanker-to-tanker” rendezvous procedures with a special emphasis on threat reactions and retrograde procedures.
