Exceptional DART 2024 at Jever Airbase

This week, a new edition of the Disabled Aircraft Recovery Training, DART 2024, is taking place at Jever Airbase and is hosted by the German Air Force Regiment “Friesland”. Nearly 70 trainees from eight nations* participate to this 10th edition of the DART training.

Exceptional resources are deployed to offer optimised and exceptional DART and DARO** trainings. In a collaborative effort, experts from EATC and the DEU air force supervise the training, while the station leaders from DEU, NLD, BEL, FRA and GBR lead the hands-on training. Moreover, common equipment from a former German national exercise, called Elephant Recovery, and four decommissioned aircraft are offered for training purposes. The latter include a PA200 Tornado and a Eurofighter Typhoon, as well as a C160 and a CH53 helicopter. The training objectives for the four stations are developed in accordance with EATC’s aircraft recovery syllabus and aide-mémoire.

Tomorrow the Commander EATC will visit DART 2024. Stay tuned to hear more about it.
