On 24 September 2020, EATC member nations’ Air Chiefs or their representatives signed a declaration reaffirming their intention to benefit from EATC’s expertise and knowledge to better support the nations’ air mobility in crisis situation.
The Dutch Air Chief and chairman of the Matrac*, Lieutenant General Dennis Luyt, emphasized that this declaration is “the starting point for (a) promising development. We signed a declaration, reaffirming our common ambition with EATC, and declaring our commitment to a more comprehensive use of EATC’s planning, coordination and command capabilities in support of selected scenarios.”
The new Commander EATC, Major General Andreas Schick, will lead the path to elaborate EATC’s new roles in this framework.
*General Lieutenant Luyt is chairman of the “Multinational Air Transport Committee”, highest decision level board and composed of the air chiefs of EATC member nations.
