In the context of a fast-changing world, and as result of its internal quality improvement project, EATC is undergoing organisational changes in the Operational Division. The changes are necessary in order to improve the relationship with member nations & NATO allies and enhance internal resilience. More specifically, the new structure will allow for a more efficient use of human resources and effective mission planning.
Indeed, following Colonel Patrik De Groot, Head of the Operational Division, the reorganization is fundamentally aimed at creating workload balance, implementing a resilient structure, improving quality control, and identifying ownership and accountability. The shift will ensure that tasks are distributed more evenly, that bottlenecks are reduced and overall efficiency is enhanced. A key aspect of the reorganization is the establishment of a new naming convention, designed to better align job descriptions with clear expectations. The changes will not only clarify organizational roles, but also set precise expectations for performance, fostering a more accountable and high-quality operational environment.
Well aware of the complexity of the task, Major-General Franck Mollard, Commander EATC, advised his team to take a comprehensive approach and closely coordinate between divisions. While the Operational Division concentrates on adapting the mission planning process, the Policy & Support Division is in charge of updating the underlying documentation and the Public Affairs Office centres on promoting the changes to the public. A special focus is given to transitioning from the old to the new process using digital technologies and e-learning tools.
The graph below gives a quick overview of the new structure. Full operational capability is planned for November 2024.
