From 08 to 10 June 2022, EATC hosted the seventh annual NPECC (National Patient Evacuation Coordination Centres) conference. After a Covid-19 induced interruption, this year’s meeting was again an excellent opportunity for the NPECCs’ and AECC’s* medical experts to come together at Eindhoven Air Base and discuss strategic aeromedical evacuation.
Brigadier General Gourg, Chief of Staff of EATC, stressed in his introductory speech that ”Multinational cooperation is crucial! I very much welcome that our member nations are increasing their collaborative efforts in the field of aeromedical evacuation, in particular in times of crisis. I am also pleased that we are now managing Italian and Spanish aeromedical evacuation missions.”
To Colonel Dr Eberhard Limpricht, Head AECC, this year’s conference offered a forum to address the operational challenges and lessons learned from previous or current operations. “We had excellent exchanges of experiences and ideas, in particular on COVID-19 and the innovative solutions that we had to find together to execute time critical missions in permanently changing environment. Another main subject on our agenda were the new standards for confidential data management and a common agreement on a privacy policy. Moreover, we discussed the nations’ future needs regarding the aeromedical evacuation trainings and operations.”
The conference closed with an exchange on new ways to enhance the multinational cooperation. Another successful conference for effective strategic aeromedical evacuation at EATC!
