Seven nations - One command
Worldwide 24/7 operations

Spanish Commander of the Air Mobility Headquarters at EATC

On 16 November 2021, Major General Andreas Schick, Commander EATC, warmly welcomed Brigadier General José Luis Ortiz-Cañavate Levenfeld, Commander of the Spanish Air Mobility Headquarters. The generals had already met recently when they visited EATC’s led “European Air Refuelling Training” at Lanzarote Airbase (Spain).

The generals had a fruitful exchange on the Commander’s priorities for the coming years and on EATC’s outlook into the future. They reconfirmed the excellent collaboration between Spain and EATC, and discussed in particular EATC’s intentions to better support the nations during air mobility missions in crisis scenarios. Moreover General Ortiz-Cañavate Levenfeld welcomed EATC’s initiatives to foster the A400M interoperability, in particular in view of the ramp-up of the Spanish A400M fleet to be completed by 2025. He also outlined the acquisition of three A330 MRTT assets to be put, in due time, under EATC’s authority (for more information, click here).

General Ortiz-Cañavate Levenfeld and his delegation visited EATC’s “Mission Control” centre, where the worldwide flight activities are monitored on a 24/7 basis. They concluded their visit meeting the Spanish contingent at EATC.
