On 19 June 2019, Major General Laurent Marboeuf, Commander EATC, Mr Jorge Domecq, Chief Executive EDA*, and Mr Arturo Alfonso-Meiriño, Director OCCAR-EA** benchmarked the progress on the ongoing “A400M roadmap”.
This meeting took place 18 months after the partners signed the letter of intent concerning the joint optimisation and development of the A400M capability within the remit of EATC. In May 2018, a roadmap followed and initiated the process to translate the letter of intent into actions.
Major General Marboeuf, Mr Alfonso-Meiriño and Mr Domecq welcome the excellent development of the actions laid down in the roadmap and complimented the achieved output to optimize the A400M capability. They re-confirmed their willingness to reinforce their cooperation, to enhance synergies and to avoid duplication of efforts.
Thanks to the continuous commitment and joint collaborative efforts of the experts, the three organisations will achieve efficient European air transport on behalf of their member nations and enhance interoperability in day-to-day operations.

Nine activities are included in the 2018 roadmap. They range from training to airworthiness. EATC leads three activities:
1. training centre cooperation;
2. common training for loadmaster, Cargo Jumpmaster and ground handling crews;
3. interoperability in cross-servicing and cross maintenance, including employment of technicians in a multinational environment.
OCCAR-EA was in lead of the roadmap for the first year. EATC took over and will call for a trilateral expert this fall.
