EART 2023: ready to start!

On 10 October 2023, a team of EATC experts have taken off from Eindhoven to Lanzarote to finalize preparations with Spanish counterparts and to welcome tankers and crews at Lanzarote Air Base for EART 2023.

They will spend their days over the skies of the Canarian Islands, training air-to-air refuelling techniques in conjunction with a Spanish live fighter exercise called "Ocean Skies 23," operating from Gando airbase.

Three tankers, an Italian Kc-767A, a French A330 MRTT, a Spanish A400M and their crews will be ready to perform air-to-air-refuelling missions under the supervision of the training director, the French Air Force LtCol, Arnaud Viltart, Head of EATC's Training and Exercise Branch.

The 2023 edition of EART will again offer dedicated training opportunities to the tanker crews with a dedicated focus on dissimilar “multi-tanker formation” and “tanker-to-tanker” rendezvous procedures with a special emphasis on threat reactions and retrograde procedures.
