...... and 300 crew members training together during the 8th edition of the European Air Refuelling Training (EART). This year’s edition was once again hosted by the Spanish Air Force at Lanzarote Military Air Base and run by EATC in cooperation with a multinational team of mentors.
166 training objectives were met and the EART Director, Colonel Salvatore Melillo, is fully satisfied with the outcome of the training and the performance of both the trainees and mentors. “The tanker air and ground crews were offered effective deployment scenarios with realistic fighter operations in a multinational framework. EART provides critical skills training to both tanker and fighter pilots who may meet again during real-life air-to-air refuelling missions. Thus our EART training is of utmost importance to become interoperable and ensure the success of our nations’ common operations.”
