Commander of Joint Support Command visits EATC


On Wednesday 17 September 2025, Lieutenant-General Jan-Willem Maas, Commander of the Netherlands Joint Support Command (JSC), paid a visit to the European Air Transport Command (EATC) in Eindhoven.

General Maas was welcomed by EATC Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff before engaging in an office call. The program then continued with a comprehensive presentation on EATC’s unique multinational business model. Senior representatives from various EATC divisions, highlighted the command’s achievements in optimizing air transport, air-to-air refuelling, aeromedical evacuation and training. They also shared perspectives on the benefits of pooling and sharing resources among the seven member nations and underlined EATC’s growing role within NATO and the EU.

As part of the visit, General Maas was guided through the Mission Control Centre, where he received first-hand insight into how EATC monitors and coordinates its flight activities around the globe on a 24/7 basis.

Following the briefing, General Maas had an exchange with the Netherlands Acting Senior National Representative and subsequently held a dedicated meeting with the Dutch contingent at EATC. This provided an opportunity to discuss ongoing cooperation, national perspectives and future challenges.

Reflecting on his visit, General Maas stated: “EATC embodies the spirit of multinational cooperation. The pooling and sharing of capabilities is not only efficient but essential to ensure that our nations can meet current and future challenges together.”

Before his departure, General Maas signed the EATC guest book and took part in an official group photograph.

EATC was honoured to welcome the Commander of JSC and looks forward to further strengthening the close cooperation with the Netherlands in the field of air mobility.
