Dutch C-130 ready for new AirMedEvac tasks

Friday 21 December - 08:40h  |  News & Press updates

Aeromedical Evacuation training around a medically configured Belgian C-130 takes place alternately in the Netherlands and Belgium with the emphasis on preparation, implementation, and evaluation for potential AE-missions. Last week a Belgian MedEvac-team worked closely together with two Dutch Flight surgeons in order to fully certify the Dutch C-130 Hercules for AE- flights  becoming effective in the first half of January 2013.
With this specific certification the Royal Dutch Air Force prepares its AT-fleet for future AirMedEvac-purposes within the European Air Transport Command at Eindhoven Air Base. In view of the fact that those Hercules potentially could be used by the EATC Partner Nations it is clear, that international crews must be able to cope with a “foreign” plane. Therefore harmonizing  adjustments in MedEvac-equipments are advantageous for any Partner Nation.
